The third day of Power Cup started in windy conditions, but that didn’t bother the enthusiastic teams! Even though the prior two days were long, cheering and team spirit were visible on the courts.
”We had a great team spirit and won the game 2-1, we had fun on the court!” Kendron Tüür of Lempo Volley commented the last game of the day.
The appearance of the popular Youtuber Sere Siltala gathered players to the vicinity of the Power market. Sere, who won Youtuber of the year with the group called Toimistopojat, took part in different contests and games on the Picnic mainstage. Sere encouraged players to cheer and compliment their teammates. As a prize players got a card which they could take to the Power market and receive a delicious prize!
Saturday was also the last day of the Picnic summer camp. The three-day camp culminated on the mainstage where participants received a diploma for completing the camp. The camp focused on the basic skills of volleyball, and it was for 7—15-year-old children and youths.
On the Power market players were able to meet the head of the referee group Ahti Huhtaniska and an international referee Pasi Hakkarainen, who also referees the Finnish Volleyball league. They informed the players about refereeing, answered their questions and enthused kids about the possibilities of refereeing.
An exhibition on sitting volleyball in which players got to know more about the sport and were able to test the sport themselves. Saturday was completed by the traditional disco, where the artist Jambo performed. Also, Sere Siltala and Rajala performed at the disco. The disco was arranged in two different sections, where the first part was attended by age groups F—D and the second part was attended by groups C—W22. The party had a “superstar” dress code.
There is one day of Power Cup ahead of us and the last matches will be played tomorrow. There is already a great and memorable Power Cup behind us but there is for sure still energy left for Sunday!
