The world’s largest volleyball event for children and youth, the Power Cup, will bring 826 teams to Käpylä Sports Park in Helsinki from June 11–14. A record number of international teams will also be participating, with 96 teams from three different countries. A new country joining the event is Guatemala. Most of the international teams are coming from Estonia and Latvia.
“We’ve managed to increase the number of teams again, and we couldn’t be happier about it. It’s also great that Helsinki is attracting interest from new international teams, and we’ve already received inquiries from other new countries about the 2027 Power Cup. The final number of players will not be known until May, when registration for the summer camp closes,” says Power Cup Event Director Anna Komu.
The summer camp is designed for children and youth aged 7–15 who have no previous experience with volleyball or who have tried the sport before. The camp will feature skill training, and participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy all the other activities.
Power Cup tournament pass holders will also get to see top-level volleyball this year, as the Finnish men’s national volleyball team plays its European League home tournament at Veikkaus Arena from June 12–14. Tournament pass holders get free admission to watch the national team’s match against Albania on Friday, June 12. Thousands of junior volleyball players are expected to fill the stands to cheer our national team towards victory.
Welcome to the exciting and joyful atmosphere of the Power Cup
The Power Cup is an event open to everyone, so all are welcome to come and visit. The opening ceremony will officially kick off the four-day event on Thursday, June 11. The artist performing at the opening ceremony will also be announced soon. Youth have been able to share their artist wishes on the Power Cup’s social media channels.
The Power Market will be open every day in the event area, offering a variety of activities for both participating players and visitors. In addition to the matches, there will be a wide range of related events, competitions, and various activities organized by partners. So, what better way to spend the sunny days of early June?
