You can count the number of nights left until Power Cup on one hand now, as the summer’s most anticipated event kicks off on Thursday, June 5th at 12:00 PM at the Loimaa Sports Center. This four-day volleyball festival will feature thousands of matches, the joy of hundreds of teams, engaging side events offered by partners, and of course, the opening ceremony to launch the event.

“What an anniversary festival this will be, with a total of 822 teams having registered! In addition, we have an incredible number of volunteers who have already been working hard to ensure everything is ready when the teams arrive in Loimaa. At this point, I want to thank the local organizers, the volunteers, and all of you participating in Power Cup. This event is built every year with joy and teamwork so that children and youth can experience the happiness brought by sports and physical activity. So, a warm welcome to everyone – we’re in for another unforgettable four-day event,” says Power Cup event director Anna Komu.

Power Cup is an open event, meaning everyone is welcome to attend. A large number of local residents and visitors are also expected to join in at the Loimaa Sports Center. The official opening ceremony will take place on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM on the main Picnic stage in Power Market. Young people have once again had a say in choosing the opening act and this year Ege Zulu will be performing live. All participants are encouraged to arrive early, as a group photo will be taken at Power Market at 6:45 PM to commemorate the 40th anniversary.

Located at the heart of the event area, Power Market will cater to both visitors and players with various food and partner booths. Fun and casual performances will take place on the Picnic main stage. In addition to volleyball, there will be a wide variety of side programs and activities from partners.

Visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the event schedules and map on the Power Cup website, www.powercup.fi, and to download the munLentis application, which includes exclusive partner offers, extensive event information, and a handy search function to locate playing fields.

Jankko Volleyball and Hurrikaani-Loimaa are the official local organizers of the Loimaa Power Cup. Hurrikaani-Loimaa is a well-known name in the Men’s Volleyball League and won its first-ever Finnish Championship last season after a long wait. Loimaa’s other volleyball club, Jankko Volleyball, is responsible for junior activities in the area and currently involves nearly 300 children and youth in its weekly programs.
